Slow Days, Fast Company

The vibe is so distinctly LA in the late 60s and early 70s, it’s poignant and tangible. It leaves you feeling like you were there, you were part of that time period, you had those experiences. It’s iconic.

Having lived in LA for a couple of years, I sense the history around me, the impact characters like Eve Babitz and Joan Didion had on the surrounding culture, and the effect the culture had on them and their writing. The early origins of Hollywood and fame and so-American-sex-and-sin and rock ‘n’ roll are unmistakably loud as you drive west on the 405. I loved having eloquent words and stories to these lingering spirits wandering and continuing to stain and tarnish (in the most positive connotation of the word) the city of angels.
